Our
History

Higgins Family Butcher was established by Thomas Higgins in Kildare way back in 1880. Famous for his commitment to quality, he passed his knowledge, skill and passion down through four generations of Master Butchers

Today, his legacy has evolved into Ireland’s leading distributor of premium quality meat to the retail, restaurant and food-service industry.

When receiving their weekly order, our butchers meticulously hand-select every individual piece so only the highest quality cuts are used.

Rick Higgins

Rick is a fourth-generation Master Butcher from Dublin. He started out as an apprentice under the guidance of his father Tony Higgins at just 17 years of age. It was during this time that he learned the skills and commitment-to-quality that has allowed his family business to flourish for more than 140 years.
